Hooray!

So I am expanding my toolkit and am now comfortable with taking commissions! Have a pendant or charm bracelet in mind? I'm your girl!

Basically the process would go like this:

- You contact me anyplace you like with the rough idea of what you want.
- We go back and forth with the who what where when and why of making it happen. Maybe I can do exactly what you want, maybe I could if there were a few tweaks, either way we'd figure it out in this stage. This would include things like gift wrapping, using certain chains or materials, etc.
- I get the final approval of the concept for you.
- I quote you a price, and we get approval there. This will also involve quoting you a deposit amount, usually based on how much/what kind of material I will be using.
- You send me the deposit.
- I make you the item. I keep doing it until it's right, and will send you pictures every step of the way.
- You give the go ahead to ship, and pay the rest of the money owed.
- I ship out the item when I receive your funbucks.
- ???
- You are ideally thrilled with your item! Alternatively you are not so thrilled, in which case I'll work with you to try and ensure that everyone ends up happy, probably in the form of making you a different item or refunding you a portion of your money.

So you may have noticed I'm kind of flittering all over at least 3 mediums at the moment (drawing, jewelry-making, photography) so I'm sorry for any confusion among followers this has caused! But thanks to anyone who has stuck by me, especially those of you who have supported my artistic endeavours on etsy, you all freaking rule.

I'm doing a daily drawing thing and I am not sure if I wanna put everything up here cause I don't wanna spam anyone, but I'll try and remember to put the good ones up. If anyone's interested, you can see the rest of my dailies (and some other dorky stuff) at my tumblr fatbutt.tumblr.com/ .

FINALLY got my studio lights back from my old place. Only took a year of back and forth to get them shipped to me. I only ever got to use them once before I had to up and move :<. It's nice to be able to really play with light again, I really do think it's the most important tool for any photographer to have on hand.

I posted a casting call or two for projects that have been stewing inside my head for a while now...And already I am booked up till mid November. I have about 4 shoots a week most weeks in October, and a 3 day long assignment including a photoshoot. And a friend from out of the country staying with me for almost a week. Phew. It's a bit jarring going from not shooting at all because I felt inadequate without control over the light, to shooting constantly in the course of a week. I should ideally learn a lot in the next two months though.

Also thinking about learning make up art so that I can do more for my models. I really enjoy bright, colorful makeup in shots, and I'd like to start doing that myself. I recently started wearing makeup myself, and dicking around with stuff from sugarpill cosmetics and I am pretty happy with the results. I totally plan on doing a self portrait with pretty colors once I can get a remote trigger for my camera. Not enough money lately though...

Posted a buncha shots from yesterday's shoot on here with the lovely Mahogany Lux. She was a trooper - the train she was taking was partially out of service and no one told her, so instead of going home she hung around in a train station for almost two hours. Color me impressed. I'm flattered anyone would do that to shoot with lil ol me. I'm thrilled she likes the photos that came out of yesterday's shoots too. That is a really amazing feeling, and makes me kinda happy I am booked solid.
